The important trains to Whitefield depart only from Bangalore City Junction at present and take about 30 to 40 minutes to reach there. Some of the trains passing through the area include the Chennai Express, the Tirupati Passenger, the Seshadri Express, the Kanyakumari Express; the Mysore-Howrah Express runs from Mysore to Howrah.

To enhance the connectivity, the railway department has proposed a quadruple line project for Krishanrajapuram (KR Puram)- Whitefield belt. Also the Whitefield-Kolar line is proposed to make the Whitefield station a junction soon.
